I just read Time Magazine's 50 Best Inventions of 2010 article, and mark my words: it's only a matter of time (pardon the pun) before SkyNet comes on line and Terminators start crunching human skulls beneath their steely skeletal feet.
The technology is here. All you've got to do is get some guy named Dyson to put the pieces together, and we could be facing an army of flying, transforming super-strong walking robots that speak English -- capable of deception and able to detect sarcasm, coated in nigh-indestructable material, hidden inside bio-engineered, fast-grown human tissue, bio-fueled by rendered body fat, able to navigate independantly and record everything they see, killing us with blades made of water that can puncture steel. All so they can harvest our energy.
Okay, it gets a little Matrix-y at the end. But you get the idea.
Get ready, people. No fate but what we make!
